Broncos at Raiders spread, odds, picks and trends: Expert predictions for NFL Week 16 game

There’s no better indication of a lost season in Las Vegas than being surprised by a Raiders win over the Browns backups. Vegas beat Cleveland 16-14 behind a game-winning kick from Daniel Carlson as time expired. The Raiders led by 10 at half only to give up the next 14 points and nearly let the opportunity slip away on a night where the Browns had 236 yards and 13 first downs. For the record, this is a game Las Vegas should win and it still took a comeback to get the job done. The Raiders opened as 1.5-point favorites at home this week, but they’re also 2-4 against the spread when favored.

Denver’s playoff chances took quite a hit last week after a 15-10 home loss to the Bengals dropped it to 7-6. The Broncos are now three games back in the AFC West and don’t have many tiebreakers in hand for the wild card race. The Cincinnati loss was a game Denver probably should have won. Defensively, the Broncos allowed 249 yards, four third-down conversions on 13 attempts and held the Bengals to 51 plays. That’s enough to win most weeks. Except the offense was far too stagnant again. Javonte Williams ran for 73 yards and Melvin Gordon added 53, but Teddy Bridgewater was 12-of-22 for 98 yards before exiting with an injury. Drew Lock finished that first drive with a touchdown but fumbled in the red zone on the following possession. As much as Denver struggles offensively, we like them as underdogs here considering how dysfunctional the Raiders have looked. Odds, Over/Under, Moneyline
