FINAL FANTASY series is the latest video game that faces pandemic challenges.
Naoki Yoshida, the producer of FINAL FANTASY XVI, said in a note Post to Twitter The complexity of COVID-19, including the transition to a decentralized telecommuting model, has delayed the development process by almost half a year. Yoshida said he plans to offer the game public in the spring of 2022.
“The last time I talked, I promised to get more information about FINAL FANTASY XVI in late 2021,” said the Square Enix producer. “But I’m pleased to inform you that the complications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have delayed the development of the game for almost half a year and I can’t keep that promise.”
