North Carolina at Notre Dame expert predictions, odds, betting trends: Sam Howell tries to end Irish’s Playoff hopes

Make it back-to-back wins for Notre Dame following its first loss of the season. The Fighting Irish beat Virginia Tech going into their bye and came out of it with a convincing 31-16 win over USC.

ND had a lot of positives come from last week. It converted eight of 12 third downs and had 170 rushing yards as a team. Extending drives and running the ball have been issues for the Irish most of the year. Whether that was progress or just USC’s defense remains to be seen. If nothing else, it’s momentum heading into a matchup with another leaky defense.

Notre Dame is favored against North Carolina at home, but by less than a touchdown. This game will be on NBC with a 7:30 p.m. ET start on Saturday.

UNC has been fairly predictable this year. The Tar Heels are 4-0 when scoring 35 or more points and 0-3 when they don’t hit that mark. If that’s not enough of a reason to bet against North Carolina, UNC is just 2-19 all-time against Notre Dame. Odds, Over/Under, Moneyline
