Rams at Texans spread, odds, picks and trends: Expert predictions for NFL Week 8 game

Favoring the Rams by two possessions? What could go wrong? Last week, Los Angeles closed as 16.5-point favorites against Detroit with 72 percent of money on the Rams to cover. Of course, that wasn’t the case as Matthew Stafford threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns while the defense needed to make three big red zone stops to hold off the Lions. As good as the Rams have been this year in terms of wins and losses, they’re just 4-3 against the spread. Los Angeles opened -14.5 against the Texans.

But we also just saw Houston fail to cover the largest spread of the year. The Texans closed as 20-point underdogs against the Cardinals and provided bettors with false hope by jumping out to a 5-0 lead. Of course, Arizona went on to score the game’s final 31 points Houston’s now been unable to cover spreads of 11, 17.5 and 20 points. Tyrod Taylor could return to practice this week, however, there is no reason to bet the Texans at this point. They’re 1-4 against the spread over the past five weeks. Odds, Over/Under, Moneyline
