Wings of Life Helps the Community During Thanksgiving Season – WKRG News 5

Mobile, Alabama (WKRG) —Several organizations throughout Port City have made Thanksgiving meals available to those who may not have eaten Thanksgiving meals today. The Wings of Life has entered a season to take a step further.

Volunteers from faith-based organizations aimed at helping them recover from alcohol and drugs have done more than feed 70 inhabitants.

The organization also provided meals to the homeless, provided more than 200 dishes, and provided free winter clothing to those in need.

Howard Fern, Wings of Life Kitchen Manager, says he was in Wings of Life when he left jail. Currently he is the manager of the organization and is giving back to the community he gave him when needed.

“Today we are doing what we are doing, because first of all we love God. We love people,” Fern said. “And we love our work. We love living that influence, they change. And that’s all we do.”

The Wings of Life feeds the homeless every weekend.

The organization will also serve hot meals this Christmas.
